Dr. Shanmugaraju Sankarasekaran obtained his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India working with Prof. Partha Sarathi Mukherjee. Later, he worked as a Irish Research Council (IRC) Postdoctoral Fellow with Prof. Thorfinnur Gunnlaugsson in the Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute (TBSI), Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. He started his independent research career as an assistant professor at IIT Palakkad in 2018. His research focuses on “The rational design and synthesis of novel structures, smart materials, and functional porous polymers for applications in sustainable energy, environment, and biomedicine".
